Lucia Digirolamo is an Italian restorer presently in Christchurch. Lucia is specialized in stone, both statues and buildings, and is looking for work in this field. She tells about the surprising discoveries made while restoring the Basilica in Padua.

Italian Passports 15 May 2013

            The Italian Embassy in Wellington intends to send a staff member to Christchurch to take digital imprints of Italian citizens wishing to apply for a new passport in the near future. So instead of the extra expense of travelling to Wellington for this, it can be done in Christchurch.

            It is ESSENTIAL that anyone needing to avail themselves of this service get in contact with Valerie Mayer immediately by email (tmayer@snap.net.nz) or telephone (359-7372) with the name(s) of those who will be needing this service, as the Embassy hopes to do this early next week.

Our Lady of Christchurch 26 May 2013

You may remember back in 2011, during the earthquakes, there was a statue of Our Lady in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament which turned around 180 degrees to face the city. That statue was dubbed 'Our Lady of Christchurch' and that year and in 2012 processions were held in her honour.
