Culture Galore 13 March

We had a stand at Culture Galore again this year. We offered coffee and panettone, and our Tarantella group made a public appearance on the main stage.

March meeting- John Anderson : Veneto beyond Venice

7:30pm, Wed. 8 July at the Linwood Community Arts Centre, corner Stanmore Rd & Worcester St.

John Anderson, an architect who has lived and worked for several years in Rome and travelled extensively in Italy over many years will give an illustrated talk about some of the places, landscapes and architecture of the Veneto region

With two Italian brothers in law, Andrea an architect and Stefano a biologist, John also takes selected small groups to interesting corners of Italy.

For supper we'll have a pasta to celebrate the start of this year's activities.

Training course for interpreters

Interpreting Canterbury is inviting applications from people interested in being trained as community interpreters.

If selected for the course, candidates will attend a number of weekend modules and other sessions from May to July 2010 (for a token charge).  Successful graduates will be employed on a casual basis.
