Carolina Perrod, an Italian now living in Christchurch, has traveled and trekked extensively in New Zealand. As a result she was invited by a specialized publisher to write a guide to New Zealand: definitely one of the best Italian guides on Aotearoa! We play songs by Litfiba and give an incredibly easy and quick recipe.
Recipe: Lamb rack with pesto.
This is a quick and tasty recipe: what you need are one or two lamb racks, and plenty of pesto. Preheat the oven at 220 degrees; lean an oven tray with baking paper. Smear the lamb rack all over with a generous quantity of pesto. Lay on the tray and bake for exactly 20 minutes. Retrieve from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes, then cut into single cutlets and serve with all the bits of pesto.

Cine Dante Thursday 27 May
This week's film is the acclaimed Il Divo, winner of the Jury Prize at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
Paolo Sorrentino's original and witty film about Giulio Andreotti tries to anatomise the character and explain the longevity of a man who has been Prime Minister three times and emerged unscathed from no less than 26 separate court cases on charges that include corruption and Mafia involvement.
Before the screening of Il Divo come along to Dante Aperitivo between 7.45 and 8.15 for Italian conversation. All welcome.
Note : Metro's exclusive charge to us of $12 will apply, but the showing is a private one for members of the Dante Society, the Italian community and their friends.
